Govt provides PHP149.9M aid for Mt. Kanlaon evacuees

The national government and local government units have provided PHP149.9 million in assistance to families affected by the ongoing restiveness of Mt. Kanlaon.

Western Visayas received PHP45.72 million, while Central Visayas received PHP104.21 million in aid.

This assistance includes family food packs, hygiene and sleeping kits, as well as financial help for a total of 9,762 affected families or 34,396 individuals across 26 barangays.

As of Wednesday, 4,407 families or 14,393 individuals are staying in 34 evacuation centers, while another 2,195 families or 6,987 individuals are being helped outside evacuation centers.

The aid is aimed at supporting those displaced and impacted by the volcanic activity.
