DOH, Lorenzana back Año's home quarantine ban

Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana and Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire support Interior Secretary Eduardo Año's proposal to ban home quarantine for COVID-19 patients.

Lorenzana noted that a spike in infections earlier this year was due to improper adherence to home quarantine, while Galvez cited areas where discouraging home quarantine led to fewer cases.

The National Task Force Against Covid-19 and the Inter-Agency Task Force for Emerging Infectious Diseases are drafting a resolution to enforce the ban within a week, with exemptions for those in suitable homes or elderly patients who cannot be transferred.
