IATF approves priority vaccine access for national athletes

The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases has approved prioritizing national athletes and coaches participating in the Tokyo Olympics and 2021 Southeast Asian Games for COVID-19 vaccination.

This decision includes delegates and officials from both events, placing them in Priority Group A4.

Philippine Olympic Committee President Abraham Tolentino expressed relief, stating that this approval allows serious training and preparations to commence.

The government aims to start vaccinating economic frontliners and indigent Filipinos after May following the ongoing vaccination of medical frontliners, elderly, and those with comorbidities.
