DOH: 56 labs now licensed for COVID-19 testing

As of Wednesday, June 10, there are now 56 laboratories nationwide licensed for independent COVID-19 testing by the Department of Health (DOH), including 42 PCR facilities and 14 GeneXpert labs.

The latest additions to this list include Bataan General Hospital and Oriental Mindoro Provincial Hospital.

Additionally, 147 other laboratories are currently undergoing accreditation; 82 percent of these are at Stage 3 or above.

These licensed labs have tested over 425,000 individuals as of June 9, with a positivity rate of about 7 percent.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque acknowledged the government's aggressive pursuit to establish more testing laboratories to increase the country’s capacity for rapid COVID-19 testing.
