DFA: Overseas Filipino coronavirus cases rise to 5,405

As of Monday, June 8, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported that the total number of Filipinos abroad infected with coronavirus is now at 5,405.

The death toll increased to 371 with one new fatality, while recoveries remained steady at 2,231.

Of those still being treated for the illness, 2,803 are distributed across various regions: Middle East and Africa (1,916), Europe (468), Americas (265), and Asia-Pacific (154).

Recoveries are highest in the Middle East/Africa with 1,327 cases, followed by Asia-Pacific (367), Europe (293), and the Americas (244).

The highest number of deaths is reported in the Americas at 153, followed by the Middle East and Africa at 125, Europe at 91, and Asia Pacific with only two.
