Ginebra secures QF berth, defeats Phoenix 112-96, aims for top seed

Barangay Ginebra secured its quarterfinal berth and defeated Phoenix 112-96 in the PBA Governors' Cup on Wednesday at Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

Rookie RJ Abarrientos led Ginebra with a season-high 24 points, five rebounds, and five assists, while Japeth Aguilar contributed 21 points.

Coach Tim Cone emphasized that his team is focused on winning every game to improve their standing in the elimination round.

Ginebra aims to secure one of the top two seeds for the playoffs by focusing on defeating NLEX in their final game this Sunday at Araneta Coliseum.

With San Miguel Beer and Rain or Shine currently holding the top two spots, Ginebra's performance against NLEX will determine its seeding position.
