Abarrientos leads Ginebra to big win, secures quarterfinal spot

RJ Abarrientos helped Barangay Ginebra rebound from their worst loss in franchise history by leading them to a decisive 112-96 victory over Phoenix on Wednesday.

Abarrientos, who scored 24 points with five rebounds and five assists, demonstrated maturity beyond his years as the team's youngest player but also one of its most reliable.

The win improved Ginebra's record to 6-3, securing their place in the quarterfinals and positioning them well for tougher battles ahead.

Coach Tim Cone praised Abarrientos' ability to adapt to his role on the bench and learn from veterans after a tough loss, noting that he is quickly becoming one of the team's role models.

Abarrientos' overseas experience in Korea and Japan has prepared him well for the league, making him a valuable asset despite being technically a rookie.
