Ginebra beats San Miguel 73-71 in PBA semis, exploits Fajardo's injury

Barangay Ginebra secured a 73-71 victory over San Miguel Beer in the PBA Philippine Cup semifinals, reversing an 18-point deficit.

Coach Tim Cone capitalized on June Mar Fajardo's right calf issue by limiting his presence and effectiveness; despite playing through pain, Fajardo managed just six points but grabbed 19 rebounds.

Fajardo will undergo tests to determine the extent of his injury after grimacing in pain during Game 1, though he is expected to play in Game 2 with a noticeable limp.

Japeth Aguilar led Ginebra with 18 points and nine rebounds, blocking Fajardo's final shot attempt which secured Ginebra’s win.

Ginebra plans to continue exploiting Fajardo's limitations in the upcoming Game 2 at Ninoy Aquino Stadium on Friday.
