Gilas Pilipinas wins first Asian Games gold since 1962

Gilas Pilipinas secured its first Asian Games gold medal since 1962 with a victory over Jordan in Hangzhou, China on Friday.

Justin Brownlee led Gilas with a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Ange Kouame contributed 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Gilas previously won bronze at the Asian Games in 1998 but had not secured gold since 1962. In their semifinal match against China, Brownlee scored a crucial 33 points to secure victory.
