Gilas gold medalists' future uncertain

Gilas Pilipinas won its first men's basketball gold medal in 61 years at the 19th Asian Games with Tim Cone as interim coach and Alfrancis Chua as team manager.

Cone and Chua's future roles with Gilas are uncertain, as both have responsibilities with Barangay Ginebra and the decision rests with Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP).

Coach Cone expressed that his role was to help SBP settle and decide on their next steps, emphasizing that the direction of Gilas depends on SBP's decisions moving forward.
