Davao City Reverts to GCQ Due to Rising COVID-19 Cases

Davao City has reverted to general community quarantine (GCQ) due to rising COVID-19 cases, effective immediately until November 30.

The decision was made after National Task Force chief implementer Carlito Galvez recommended stricter measures during a meeting on Thursday.

Mayor Sara Duterte denied claims that home quarantining of patients has contributed to the rise in community transmission and emphasized that it is not the city's usual practice.

To address the situation, a One Hospital Command Center will be established, private hospitals are ordered to increase their COVID-19 ward bed occupancy by 20% to 30%, and efforts will be made to provide additional medical equipment and high-oxygen cannula.
