PH renegotiates with Pfizer for 20M-40M vax doses

The Philippine government is renegotiating with Pfizer-BioNTech for the supply of 20 to 40 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines.

DOJ has given a favorable comment on the indemnity and immunity clause in the agreement, increasing optimism about the deal.

Pfizer will also provide around 2.4 million doses through the WHO-led COVAX facility if the bilateral agreement is finalized.

Philippine Ambassador to the US Jose Manuel Romualdez assisted in these negotiations with Pfizer.

The US has offered to give excess COVID-19 vaccine doses to allied countries like the Philippines starting July 4, after inoculating their own population.
