Filipino community in mainland China COVID-free: envoy

There are no active cases of COVID-19 among Filipinos in mainland China, according to Philippine Ambassador Jose Santiago Sta. Romana.

The lone infected Filipino worker recovered and returned to work after testing positive in March.

Sta. Romana credited China's use of technology for effective contact tracing and treatment.

Around 265 Filipinos have indicated plans to return to the Philippines due to economic challenges caused by the pandemic.
