Filipina ROF skips quarantine, attends Makati party

A returning overseas Filipino woman from the United States who skipped mandatory quarantine and attended a party in Makati has tested positive for COVID-19, leading to other attendees and restaurant staff testing positive.

According to Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, the individual was able to skip quarantine due to 'connections'.

The timeline shows she checked into Berjaya Makati Hotel on December 22 after arriving from the US, then attended a party with friends in Poblacion on December 23.

Kampai restaurant confirmed that the woman visited their establishment on December 23 and several patrons and staff have since tested positive for COVID-19.
