Bacolod logs first Omicron case, steps up border controls

Bacolod City has reported its first Omicron case involving a visiting overseas Filipino worker (OFW) who arrived on December 31.

The patient is asymptomatic, fully vaccinated, and was medically certified as recovered before arriving in Bacolod.

City officials are coordinating with the DOH to implement protocols based on IATF guidelines.

Mayor Evelio Leonardia has ordered heightened border controls and health authorities have seized a fake RT-PCR test result from another resident.
