Filipina family reunites with Sudanese husband in Egypt

A Filipina woman and her three daughters reunited emotionally with their Sudanese husband/father in a hotel in Cairo, Egypt after evacuating from Sudan during the ongoing civil war.

Migrant Workers Secretary Susan Ople shared that Hassan I. Ali Hamed, who works in the UAE, last saw his family in 2021 at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and has been unable to return since.

The Philippine government assisted in evacuating Evelyn Ali Hamed and her daughters Bothina, Maryam, and Jehan from Sudan over a week-long journey.
