FEU, UE win pre-season volleyball matches

Far Eastern University (FEU) and University of the East opened their 2024 Shakey's Super League Collegiate Pre-season Championship campaigns on a strong note after defeating San Sebastian College-Recoletos and Lyceum, respectively, on Friday at Rizal Memorial Coliseum.

Rookie Clarisse Loresco made a significant impact for FEU with nine points, including four in the decisive third set, as they secured victory over San Sebastian College-Recoletos by scores of 25-14, 25-19, and 25-20.

Veteran players Alyzza Devosora and Kyle Pendon contributed seven markers each, while Nikka Medina added six points to support FEU's win in one hour and 27 minutes.

University of the East was led by Jelai Gajero with a game-high 20 points, including 17 kills, two blocks, and an ace, as they rallied past Lyceum with scores of 24-26, 25-21, 25-22, and 25-15.

The league will hold its official opening ceremony at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the same venue.
