FEU beats UST in comeback win; UP rallies past UE

FEU secured a victory over UST in their UAAP Season 87 men's volleyball tournament opener, avenging last year's semifinal loss with a score of 20-25, 25-22, 25-16, 25-20 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Mikko Espartero led FEU with 19 points and helped them overcome UST despite conceding the first set.

UST suffered a setback when Josh Ybanez sustained an ankle injury during the match after contributing 15 points before exiting.

UP rallied from behind to beat UE in five sets, 19-25, 25-23, 24-26, 25-16, 18-16 on their opening day.

Olayemi Raheem had a strong debut for UP with 25 points and guided his team to victory in the decisive fifth set.
