Fair weather continues as Haishen enters PAR Friday

The Philippines is expected to experience fair weather this week despite the entry of Typhoon Haishen into the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Friday.

Haishen, currently east of Batanes and set to be named 'Kristine' upon entering PAR, is unlikely to affect the country's landmass and will likely move towards southwestern Japan and the Korean Peninsula.

PAGASA reports that isolated rain showers may occur in some parts of the country, particularly in Northern Luzon due to the southwest monsoon.

On Thursday, PAGASA noted the absence of low-pressure areas within PAR but is monitoring Typhoon Haishen outside PAR, which might enter briefly on Friday.

Moderate to strong winds and rough seas are expected over extreme northern Luzon while light to moderate winds with slight coastal waters will prevail elsewhere.
