Escamis' clutch triple propels Mapua past CSB

Clint Escamis secured a game-winning three-pointer with four seconds left, lifting Mapua Cardinals to a 75-73 victory over De La Salle-College of St. Benilde Blazers on Sunday and earning NCAA Player of the Week honors.

Escamis scored 26 points including three triples and added five assists, four rebounds, and one steal in his standout performance that erased a 20-point deficit.

With San Beda Red Lions' loss to Letran Knights, Mapua is now in contention for a twice-to-beat bonus in the Final Four.

The Cardinals extend their winning streak to seven games and remain tied with CSB at the top of the standings, setting up a crucial final stretch as both teams vie for the No. 1 seed.

Escamis emphasized that Mapua will begin scouting potential opponents for the semifinals, ensuring they are well-prepared regardless of who they face.

Mapua concludes their regular season against San Sebastian Stags and closely monitors Lyceum and Emilio Aguinaldo College, who could be their Final Four opponents.
