Erwin Tulfo joins Marcos Jr.'s Senate coalition

Congressman Erwin Tulfo has officially entered the 2025 senatorial race as part of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s coalition Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas.

He is the second member of his family to run for Senate, following his elder brother Ben who filed on Saturday.

Their eldest brother Raffy is already a sitting senator, potentially paving the way for three Tulfos in the upper chamber.

Erwin dismissed accusations of political dynasty by emphasizing that no law currently exists against it and expressed willingness to support such legislation if beneficial to the nation.

He cited his brief stint as DSWD secretary as proof of his ability to deliver results quickly and pledged to step down from the Senate after three years if he fails to demonstrate performance, stressing a commitment not to be a mere figurehead in the chamber.
