Emano rejects DOH ivermectin advisory

Misamis Oriental Governor Yevgeny Vincente Emano has rejected a DOH advisory against the use of ivermectin as a COVID-19 treatment.

Emano admitted to using the antiparasitic drug himself and said that other provincial officials have also used it.

Despite the DOH advisory, Misamis Oriental’s health chief Dr. Jerie Calingasan has authorized public hospitals in the province to use ivermectin based on President Duterte’s statement that its usage is left to patient and doctor discernment.
