DOH: No proof ivermectin effective vs. Covid-19

DOH Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire reiterated on Friday that Ivermectin has no proven efficacy against COVID-19.

Vergeire made this statement in response to a letter from the British Ivermectin Research Development group requesting the Philippines to allow the use of Ivermectin for early treatment of COVID-19.

Based on randomized control trials, available evidence shows that Ivermectin does not significantly reduce mortality or improve clinical outcomes when used against COVID-19.
