Elreen Ando wins PH's 8th bronze in women's weightlifting

Elreen Ann Ando won a bronze medal in women's weightlifting at the 19th Asian Games on Monday, lifting a total of 222 kilograms.

Ando's performance included lifts of 96 kg in the snatch and 126 kg in the clean and jerk, securing her third place behind North Korea and China.

This medal marks the first weightlifting medal for Team Philippines and their eighth overall bronze at the Asian Games.

Ando had struggled earlier this year but redeemed herself with a strong performance in Hangzhou.
