Election body delivers 730 ACMs in Antique

The Commission on Elections-Western Visayas has delivered 730 automated counting machines (ACMs) across 17 local government units in Antique ahead of the May 12 midyear polls.

Caluya, a coastal municipality in Antique, was the first to receive its ACMs and batteries on April 27 due to its remote location.

All delivered ACMs are now secured by municipal election officers awaiting the arrival of official ballots.

The final testing and sealing of all ACMs will take place on May 7 to ensure they function properly before the elections.

Around 300 police personnel from Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO6) will be deployed as an augmentation force, with two assigned to each voting center.

Members of the Philippine Army and Coast Guard will also provide security for remote areas and island barangays.
