Busway to stay open during EDSA rehab for ASEAN Summit

The EDSA Busway will remain operational during its planned rehabilitation for the ASEAN Summit in 2026, according to Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro.

DPWH-NCR assured that despite portions of EDSA being under construction, the busway will continue to function without closing down entirely and may be relocated to adjacent lanes as needed.

Castro emphasized during a television interview on Thursday that the bus carousel would remain operational throughout the rehabilitation period to ensure uninterrupted service for commuters.

The government's commitment includes completing road repairs and drainage improvements by 2026, aiming to alleviate traffic congestion and flooding along Metro Manila’s busiest thoroughfare.

One segment of the rehabilitation is set to start in the northbound portion from Quezon City/Caloocan boundary to Monumento by the end of March.
