Eastern Visayas logs 43 new Covid-19 cases

Eastern Visayas reported 43 new coronavirus cases as of Thursday night, bringing the total to 1,464.

The majority of new cases were in Samar and Leyte provinces, with many being locally stranded individuals from Metro Manila.

As of Thursday, at least 15 areas in Eastern Visayas have noted local transmission of Covid-19, including cities like Tacloban and Ormoc, and towns such as Palo and Carigara in Leyte; Catbalogan and Basey in Samar; Lawaan in Eastern Samar; and Almeria in Biliran.

Contact tracing is ongoing in these specific areas to identify further cases.
