PAGASA raises red warning for Occidental Mindoro, Palawan

PAGASA has raised a red rainfall warning over Occidental Mindoro and Palawan due to a low pressure area (LPA) and the southwest monsoon.

Serious flooding is expected in low-lying areas and landslides in mountainous regions under this warning.

A yellow rainfall warning was also issued for Surigao del Norte, Dinagat Islands, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Camiguin Islands, and parts of Surigao del Sur, with potential flooding and landslides.

PAGASA warned of moderate to heavy rains affecting portions of Misamis Oriental, Bukidnon, Davao City, Davao del Norte, Sultan Kudarat, Davao del Sur, and nearby areas for up to three hours.

Light to moderate rain with occasional heavy showers are expected in Maguindanao, General Santos City, North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sarangani, Davao Oriental, Davao Occidental, Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, and Zamboanga del Sur within two to three hours.

The LPA crossed Southern Luzon on Tuesday and is now located 75 kilometers north northwest of Coron, Palawan, with potential to develop into a tropical depression named Leon in the next 12 hours.
