E. Visayas reports 9 more Covid-19 deaths, total cases hit 3K

Eastern Visayas reported nine more deaths due to Covid-19 on Wednesday, bringing the total death toll to 25.

The new fatalities include patients ranging from one month old to 79 years old, with most being senior citizens or having comorbidities.

As of Tuesday, Eastern Visayas has recorded 3,003 confirmed cases and 1,738 recoveries, representing a significant increase since August 4 when the region breached the 1,000 case mark.

The DOH attributes the rising number of cases to community transmission and the return of residents from other areas.
