Duterte set to sign PHP4.5T 2021 budget, vetoes pending

President Rodrigo Duterte is set to sign the PHP4.5-trillion 2021 national budget bill into law on December 28, according to Malacañang.

The signing will prevent a reenactment of the 2020 budget which was not designed for the pandemic.

Palace spokesperson Harry Roque confirmed that Duterte will issue a line veto but declined to specify which items would be affected.

Roque hinted that the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) had recommended certain provisions for veto.
