Dutere taken to ICC clinic for medical checkup

Former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte was taken to a clinic within the ICC detention facility in The Hague on Monday for medical monitoring.

Harry Roque, who is part of Duterte's legal team and recently arrived in The Hague after evading congressional inquiry into his alleged involvement in illegal offshore gambling operations, stated that medicines and personal items such as slippers and socks were delivered to Duterte.

Roque mentioned that doctors at the detention center are providing substitute medications due to an initial shortage of Duterte's specific medicines, but proper medicine was delivered with a letter and prescription last night.

Former executive secretary Salvador Medialdea visited Duterte from 9 to 10 a.m. on Monday and reported that he is in high spirits despite missing his usual Filipino fare like tuyo (dried fish) and fried bananas.

Duterte expressed gratitude towards Filipinos for their support, telling Medialdea, 'I love you all and thank you for the support you have been giving me and my family.'
