Duterte addresses nation after ICC arrest, lands in Rotterdam

Former President Rodrigo Duterte addressed the nation on Thursday, March 13, assuring Filipinos that he is doing fine after being arrested and transferred based on an International Criminal Court warrant.

Duterte said he was about to land in Rotterdam, The Hague airport, following a stopover in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, emphasizing his readiness for the legal proceedings ahead.

In a video message posted on his Facebook page, Duterte reiterated his support for law enforcement and military personnel under his command during his presidency, stating that he will take full responsibility for any actions they took.

He acknowledged the possibility of prolonged legal proceedings but remained resolute in his commitment to serve the country, emphasizing that taking responsibility is part of his destiny.

The Philippine Embassy in The Netherlands provided consular support and care packages to Duterte upon his arrival at Rotterdam Airport, ensuring his well-being during his stay.
