Duterte seeks Congress support for pandemic response

President Duterte expressed hope for continued congressional support to aid the country's recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

During a virtual conference with Southeast Asian leaders and the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, Duterte acknowledged the need for lawmakers' assistance in battling the virus.

He praised Congress for passing RA 11469 (Bayanihan to Heal as One Act) but emphasized the necessity of new measures to address ongoing challenges.

Duterte called for institutionalizing national preparedness mechanisms, amending the Labor Code, and updating economic regulations to adapt to digital advancements.
