Duterte warns arrest of disorderly amid quarantine

President Rodrigo Duterte warned on Wednesday that he would order the arrest of people, especially Left-leaning groups, attempting to cause disorder during the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon.

In a televised address, Duterte assured the public that the government is doing its best to provide food and essentials amid the worsening health situation caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Duterte also threatened to detain politicians engaging in corruption or politicking during the crisis, stressing that he would not tolerate such actions.

On Monday night, Duterte warned officials who mismanage aid resources meant for citizens affected by the COVID-19 crisis, threatening detention until the pandemic ends.
