Duterte reverses task force: 10 to 14-year-olds stay home

President Rodrigo Duterte has overturned the Inter-Agency Task Force's decision, reimposing stay-at-home rules for children aged 10 to 14 across the country.

Duterte cited concerns over a new COVID-19 variant observed in the United Kingdom as the reason for his reversal.

Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez stated that the DTI supports Duterte’s decision and will err on the side of caution, urging further study of the new variant.
