Duterte orders arrest of mask violators

President Duterte ordered law enforcers to arrest individuals not wearing face masks properly, reversing an earlier proposal for community service as an alternative to arrests.

DOJ Secretary Menardo Guevarra stated that the President's directive is immediately executory and does not require additional guidelines.

Guevarra noted that existing laws define prohibited acts and impose penalties, emphasizing the need to wear face masks to avoid arrest.
