Duterte raises reward for COVID-19 vaccine to P50M

President Rodrigo Duterte raised the reward for Filipino scientists who can develop a coronavirus vaccine from P10 million to P50 million on April 24.

Duterte said he would immediately lift the enhanced community quarantine upon discovery of a vaccine and offered additional research funding through Health Secretary Francisco Duque III if needed.

ACT Teachers party-list Representative France Castro criticized Duterte's approach, urging more funding for public health programs and research instead of offering rewards.
