Villanueva: Filipinos have right to vaccine; Duterte denies drug pushers

Senator Joel Villanueva stated on Friday that every Filipino has a right to access the COVID-19 vaccine once it becomes available.

Villanueva emphasized that no one should be discriminated against and that supporting the right to health is the State's obligation.

In contrast, President Rodrigo Duterte declared in a televised address that drug pushers and drug lords will not receive the vaccine.

Duterte referred to drug pushers and drug lords as 'dogs' who harm the country and its people, stating he would prioritize vaccinating poor communities instead.

The president's statement aligns with his administration's anti-drug campaign which has led to thousands of deaths among alleged drug users and peddlers.
