Duterte gets second Sinopharm dose after 70 days

President Rodrigo Duterte received his second dose of the Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine on July 12, which is 70 days after his first dose.

Duterte's doctor recommended delaying the second dose beyond the WHO-recommended three to four-week interval.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque administered the second dose before Duterte's Talk to the People event.

In early June, Duterte's spokesperson Harry Roque said the delay was due to waiting for FDA approval of Sinopharm, which was granted on June 7.
