VP Sara visits detained Duterte in ICC, discusses legal matters

Vice President Sara Duterte has arrived in Amsterdam, Netherlands to visit her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, who is detained by the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague.

Sara Duterte landed in The Netherlands on Wednesday evening and was greeted by officials from the Dutch Foreign Ministry and National Police Corps.

On Friday, Vice President Duterte visited her father at the ICC detention center where he is staying in the hospital wing; they met for an hour and discussed legal matters, family issues, and the country's challenges.

Former President Duterte made his first appearance before the ICC via video link on Friday amid allegations of crimes against humanity over his deadly war on drugs.

Vice President Duterte stated that her father is in good spirits but requested she return to the Philippines as soon as possible after meeting with his legal team.
