Dumaguete area of 'most serious concern' due to high COVID-19 case growth

Dumaguete City is now the area of 'most serious concern' for COVID-19 outside Metro Manila and its neighboring provinces, according to Octa Research.

The city has a 129% one-week growth rate in new cases and an average daily attack rate (ADAR) of 69.85 per 100,000 residents, which is considered 'extremely high risk'.

Dumaguete had 495 active cases as of Sunday, June 13, with 41 patients admitted to hospitals and the rest managed in isolation facilities.

OCTA also noted that 68% of hospital beds and 84% of ICU beds are occupied in Dumaguete.
