DTI imposes nationwide price freeze on basic goods

The DTI announced a nationwide price freeze on basic necessities under the Price Act due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Basic goods covered by the DTI include canned fish, instant noodles, bottled water, bread, processed milk, coffee, candles, laundry soap, detergent, and salt.

The freeze will last for 60 days or until lifted by the President; retailers are reminded not to increase prices during this period.

Consumers can report violations through the One-DTI hotline or email.
