DSWD provides PHP3.6M aid to Typhoon Aghon victims

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has provided assistance worth over PHP3.6 million to families impacted by Typhoon Aghon.

Families in Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, and Eastern Visayas have received aid from DSWD field offices.

Typhoon Aghon affected around 36,549 families, totaling over 128,500 individuals across several regions including NCR, Ilocos, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol, Western Visayas, and Eastern Visayas.

Approximately 652 families are currently staying in 57 evacuation centers in the National Capital Region (NCR) and Calabarzon.

DSWD continues to distribute food packs and hot meals to displaced individuals, particularly those stranded passengers in ports across Albay.

Over P2.8 billion funds remain on standby to further support the needs of Aghon victims.
