Senators urge govt to spend more on people during pandemic

Senators are urging the government to increase spending to help Filipinos cope with the coronavirus pandemic.

Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon emphasized that borrowing more money is necessary to fund essential measures such as buying personal protective equipment, laboratory supplies, and increasing hospital capacities for COVID-19 patients.

Drilon stressed that transparency and accountability must be maintained in government spending related to the pandemic.
