DOT welcomes antigen testing to boost Baguio tourism

The Department of Tourism (DOT) welcomes the adoption of antigen testing in Baguio City to determine if visitors are free from COVID-19.

DOT Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat stated that antigen testing, along with RT-PCR tests, will be piloted to encourage domestic travel due to its affordability and instant results.

The Inter-Agency Task Force on Infectious Diseases (IATF) Resolution No. 73 allows antigen testing alongside other methods for domestic tourists and essential travelers.

DOT is optimistic that the pilot test in Baguio City will demonstrate the effectiveness of antigen screening in border control, potentially aiding in the revival of the tourism industry.
