UE women's volleyball team ends five-game losing streak, sets rookie scoring record

University of the East (UE) women's volleyball team defeated University of the Philippines (UP) in a 23-25, 25-17, 27-25, 25-22 match on Saturday, ending their five-game losing streak.

Freshman hitter Casiey Dongallo led UE with 28 points and broke the rookie scoring record with 291 points, surpassing University of Santo Tomas' Angge Poyos' mark.

UE interim head coach Obet Vital expressed pride in his team's performance, noting it was their best finish since Season 81 when they finished sixth place.

Rizza Nogales contributed 17 points and Kayce Balingit added 10 points to support Dongallo's efforts.

Dongallo emphasized her desire to continue the positive momentum UE established this season as they look forward to improvements in future seasons.
