DOLE urges employers to provide face shields starting Aug 15

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III urged Cavite LGUs to help remind employers and employees about the new health safety protocol of wearing face shields in workplaces starting August 15.

Bello acknowledged the DOH for introducing this additional protection measure, emphasizing its importance in safeguarding workers, especially in areas with many businesses like Cavite.

The IATF proposed that employers should provide face shields to their employees as a one-time purchase, and non-compliant workers will not be allowed entry into workplaces.

Bello warned that companies failing to comply could face administrative penalties, while emphasizing the need for social distancing and regular hand washing in addition to wearing masks and shields.
