Gov’t bans eating in canteens, smoking areas for workplaces during MECQ

Malacaōang released workplace protocols for areas under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) to prevent COVID-19 spread.

The health protocols, approved by President Duterte, include no dine-in in canteens, ban on common smoking areas, mandatory mask and shield use indoors and during meetings, frequent hand washing, temperature checks, and company audits.

Companies must provide shuttle service with masks required inside, designate health protocol officers, form an Occupational Safety and Health Protocol Committee, and train workers on new standards.
