DOLE seeks PHP2B for ECQ-hit workers

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) plans to use its remaining TUPAD funds and seek a PHP2 billion supplemental budget from the DBM to assist workers affected by the two-week ECQ in Metro Manila starting August 6.

TUPAD has about P4 billion remaining, while DOLE aims to provide one-time financial support under CAMP for displaced formal sector workers.

DOLE is also considering realigning funds within its budget to address the shortfall and assist both formal and informal workers affected by the ECQ.
