DOLE Allocates P45.7M for Bicol Workers Affected by Lockdowns

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in Bicol has allocated P45.7 million for over 9,000 workers affected by lockdowns due to the coronavirus pandemic.

DOLE regional director Joel Gonzales directed his agency to expedite the evaluation process and release financial assistance immediately as people may run out of resources soon.

The first set of beneficiaries will receive PHP5,000 each under DOLE’s Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP).

As of April 2, DOLE-Bicol approved CAMP applications from 541 establishments covering 9,144 qualified workers.

DOLE-13 in Caraga Region has already released over P5.6 million to private sector workers affected by the community quarantine, with PHP5,000 per worker for those in formal sectors and PHP3,200 for informal sectors after ten days.
